Hello dear readers of this blog. It is time for me, Gimli Black, to wax poetic once again about life here at Mercy Spring Ranch.
It has been a very busy week here at the ranch. New bark has been spread on the ground to make the place look nice for the Heirloom Tomato Tasting event this Saturday from 10am to 2pm. We want everything to be perfect for all the visitors.
In addition to this change, the outside electrical wiring is being installed. All the horses have been discussing what it will mean for us. Ladyhawke is always looking after us, so she is appreciative of the improved safety the new lighting will bring. For Connor, he sees more warmth coming his way during the cooler winter months.
I guess I am the only one who sees the real creative potential of added electricity on the ranch. I need the extra current to electrify my feeder. Right now I am playing an acoustic feeder at 3am. With all this power pouring into my paddock, I can amplify the sound, add a little reverb, and rock out all night long. Listen for these electrifying changes on my next CD. The days of playing unplugged are over!
I will of course request an upgrade to the lighting of my paddock. The installation of a spotlight for future live concerts should be a priority, as well as the installation of a soundboard and mixer. My recording studio is well on its way to completion.
It would appear that other creatures are trying to steal my thunder by forming a rival band. The chirping kit foxes (see Gimli Gazette, Issue Twenty) are running around on the roof of the ranch patio, attempting to drown out my feeder playing at 3am. Their music pales before mine, so I am not threatened. Miss Mo and John now get to enjoy our live music EVERY night!
I am thrilled with all of the new children enrolled in the current session block. The warm August weather is rough on everyone, but we are enjoying cooler activities whenever possible. I may be getting lots of baths if this heat wave does not break soon.
Well, I’ve got to get ready for a busy weekend. I look forward to seeing many of you this Saturday. Be sure to stop by for a free selfie (always suitable for framing) with yours truly!
Happy Trails,
Gimli August 16, 2022
