Hello everyone, and welcome to another posting of my reflections from a busy week at Mercy Spring Ranch.
I begin with two letters from a couple of my biggest fans. The first one writes, “I’m sorry that I did not ride you today. I hope to go jousting on you next time.”
I hope so too, little friend. With the Ranch Family Picnic coming up next month, I want to get in as much practice as possible for my jousting demonstrations. I will enjoy riding with you on the course.
The next writer asks, “What do you think about soccer with me? I like it with you. You are my favorite horse with the soccer ball. I also think that Ladyhawke was very mean to you.”
Thank you for those kind words. I have a lot of fun playing with the soccer ball with you on my back.
As far as the “Ladyhawke Incident” goes, I had better explain this to all of my readers who were not there to witness her jealous rage. Two weeks ago, the ranch was filled with students from River Oak Grace. Naturally, they all wanted to spend some time showering me with affection, so I made my way to the side of the arena where they could pet me.
Ladyhawke saw this happening, and it turned her black coat green with envy. She made her way to the fence and nudged me out of the way of my adoring fans. She then banished me to the center of the arena, so that her and Connor would be the only recipients of all the attention. I decided not to make an issue of it, since it was obvious who the students loved the most!
So dear child, I so appreciate your concern for me. I wanted to spend more time with the students, but I also did not want any horse drama ruining what was a wonderful day with the students. History will judge (especially if I write it!) who the more honorable horse was in this situation.
It was great to see all of the volunteers out on the ranch last Saturday to get the winter suupply of hay under cover. With the rain coming over the weekend, it had to be put away by Saturday morning. I offered my services of sampling the new product as part of the ranch’s quality control operations; but for some unknown reason, my request was politely declined. Many thanks for all the helping hands who made sure that I will be well-fed this winter.
Well that’s all for this week. I am loving the cooler weather. Hopefully Ladyhawke has gotten over her jealousy, and will no longer come between me and my fans. I appreciate every rub and scratch from the children!
Happy Trails,
