Hello my dear friends. I look forward each week to writing down my observations of life here at Mercy Spring Ranch. I am pleased that you have joined me for this exciting recap.
I begin by addressing a story spread about me on social media. I refer of course to the recent comments made by an unnamed commentator regarding my allegedly being a trash bandit with a weakness for Mexican pastries. The person writing this piece of tabloid drivel did not even use their own name (hiding instead behind an organizational label). Their refusal to identify themselves speaks volumes to their lack of credibility.
I usually have my staff monitor social media and reply to such postings. A horse of my stature cannot spend his days tediously scrolling through Facebook. I should probably not even dignify their comments with a response; but since my readers want to know what I think about everything (as they should!), I will make a brief statement.
I care for this planet. As I strolled by a trash barrel, I could not help but see various recyclables mixed in with legitimate trash. In addition to this ecological crime, food was being wasted that could feed others in need of basic nutrition.
I stopped to separate out the recyclable materials, and in the process discovered some discarded Mexican pastries. The treats were moments away from becoming stale and inedible. As an act of ecological heroism, I consumed the baked goods before they perished. Balance was restored to the ranch ecosystem, and the planet became a much better place for all to dwell upon. You’re welcome, Mother Earth!
It has been a while since I have given my readers a health update. You will be happy to learn that my recent poop test revealed no fecal worm eggs. Dr. Kami will be so proud of me! I attribute this result to the diligence of Miss Mo and the ranch Poop Patrol, who keep my paddock pristine. My good health is a team effort, and I appreciate all of you.
One of my favorite gifts to give at Christmas time is a Horse Wreath. It is handmade by the staff at Mercy Spring Ranch, and is worthy of display all year. The fact that it matches my profile only enhances its value. No home should be without one! Check with the ranch staff if you are interested in ordering one.
Well that’s all for now. Be watching online for volunteer workdays, as projects come up that need to be completed during the off season. We appreciate all the help we can get to make the ranch safer for the children.
Happy Trails,
Gimli October 31, 2022
