Hello, my faithful readers of this blog. It’s time for another romp around Mercy Spring Ranch with your trusty tour guide, Gimli Black.
I begin this week with two letters from regular writers to me. The first one asks, “Do you like your hair put behind your ears?”
I believe that you are referring to my forelock, the part of my mane that falls between my ears onto my forehead. Yes, sometimes I do like pulling it back behind my ears. It gives me a distinctive look, and highlights my exquisite forehead during a photo shoot. When I am hanging out in the arena, I simply let it blow in the wind.
The second writer asks, “Who is your favorite rider? By the way, I am sorry that Ladyhawke bit you.”
Ah, my dear friend, I do not have a favorite rider. I love all the children so much, that it would break my heart to pick one over another. But rest assured, you bring me great joy every time you ride me.
Ladyhawke and I are on much better terms now. She realizes that her jealousy of me got the best of her, and she took it out on me with her teeth. I accepted her apology, and we are on good terms now.
The big event coming up this weekend is the Ronnie Moyer Horsemanship Clinic. It will be our first riding clinic at the ranch. It will be free for those who wish to audit, watch, and then ask questions at the end. You need to sign up in advance. Go to the MSR website and look under EVENTS for more details.
Some of you have been asking why Ladyhawke will be featured in the clinic, but not yours truly. To be honest, Ronnie Moyer could not afford my sitting fee. My modeling agency has strict standards that clients must follow, including a twenty-page rider, a dedicated masseuse onsite at all times, and an equine hair stylist trained in outdoor grooming. My fans expect nothing less than perfection from me, and I deliver it to them every time, on and off the runway.
It was good to see many of you at the Ranch Staff Yard Sale last week. Many collectible items found new homes, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Those of you who found your way to the back of the ranch were able to grab a selfie or two with me. Some would say that this was their greatest treasure from the day.
Well that’s all for now. October looks to be another busy month at the ranch. We appreciate all of your support, which makes so many events happen for the children.
Happy Trails,
Gimli October 4, 2022
