Hello again, my dear friends. It is time for another installment of life at Mercy Spring Ranch, as seen through the ever-perceptive eyes of your faithful correspondent, Gimli Black.
There is a lot of holiday excitement in the air at the ranch as everyone is preparing for the big Escalon Parade of Lights this Sunday, December 11th. Mercy Spring Ranch will be a participant, with their float filled with staff and volunteers from the ranch. I have already gotten a peek at the lights and costumes that will be worn. It should be a delightful event.
I have been watching my mail (Pony Express, of course!) for my invitation to be the Parade Marshal this year. It is a great honor, so I cannot imagine anyone else being offered this position. Many of the floats will be tossing candy to the crowd. As Parade Marshal, I will insist that every float include horse cookies as part of their bag of treats.
Ladyhawke is still in need of your prayer support. Her recovery from pigeon fever is going slowly (see the Gimli Gazette, Issue 37 for more details). Connor and I have been hanging out on our own in the arena, since Ladyhawke is still contagious. As a small consolation for her, she gets to hang out in the pasture for some restful solo time. The “boys” have enjoyed their bro time in the arena, but it is not the same without Ladyhawke with us.
A regular reader of this blog was impressed with my mastery of the ancient art of Feng Shui (as well as a host of other artistic skills, which humbly are too numerous to mention). She asked me on Facebook if I do colors as well. The simple answer is, “But of course!” And not only colors for interior design, but also for makeup and personal fashion.
Some designers limit their discussion of colors to the four seasons (“I’m a Winter!”, etc.). I find this approach much too limiting. When I am working as a fashion consultant, I draw upon color schemes and visual interfaces that incorporate light, psychology, culture, and spirituality. Limiting oneself to a mere color wheel will deprive you of a virtual universe of fashionable designs. I look forward to working with the Facebook fan soon (sorry, I no longer accept Crypto).
With holiday shopping picking up, folks have been asking me what they should get their friends for Christmas. They want creative ideas that one cannot find by browsing the large online websites. I always recommend specialty items from Mercy Spring Ranch. Where else can you find Dyrk Godby prints, Heirloom Veggie Seeds, or Horse Head Christmas Wreaths??! There are even Miss Mo’s famous hot sauces for sale! Here is the link with all the information:
Well, that’s all for this week. Enjoy every day of this holiday season. I look forward to reading hundreds of Christmas cards from the children this month!
Happy Trails,
Gimli December 5, 2022
