Greetings my friends, and welcome to the fifieth edition of the Gimli Gazette. This is the place to escape a world of fake news and read some genuine journalism based upon my observations at Mercy Spring Ranch.
I am leaping with excitement in my paddock at the thought of children returning to the ranch as the April session is about to begin. There will be some new children, as well as returning fans, who are all eager to spend some time with me in the arena. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of them personally.
I hope they take the time to fill out one of the Ask Gimli cards. I love answering all their questions. My guess is that some of the inquiries come from their parents as well. As a fount of information on all things equine, I am at their service as their teacher.
I have been doing an informal survey recently, and I cannot help but notice that a lot of pictures are being taken of Noel and Nutmeg, our new lamb and goat. While they have their moments, I do not see any of the children getting rides on them. I do not see any sessions being scheduled so that they can have one-on-one time with the children. Neither of these critters even has a blog! Once the novelty wears off, I expect yours truly to be the sole object of everyone’s affection (and photographs).
I was a bit dismayed to see ranch staff walking these animals around the ranch. They would stop from time to time in an area with fresh, green grass. I could not help but notice a smirk on their faces as they looked back at me while chomping on this fresh greenery. I plan to discuss the necessity for equal access to such patches of grass with Miss Mo in the future.
This Saturday (April 8th) from 9am to 2pm is the second of our Heirloom Tomato Plant Sales for this year. This sale will also feature eggplant and pepper plants. Additionally, there will be another Garden Talk on how to best prepare and plant these healthy veggies. This is a wonderful opportunity to financially help the ranch, as well as sneak a selfie with yours truly. I will be waiving my normal sitting fees as a professional equine model for this special event.
Well that’s all for this edition. I hope to see many of you in the weeks to come. Bring on the children!!!
Happy Trails,
Gimli April 3, 2023
