Hello my friends, and welcome to another exciting edition of the Gimli Gazette, where I, your faithful correspondent, set the record straight on all that is happening here at Mercy Spring Ranch.
The weather has been getting warm lately, so I especially look forward to having the children give me cool, refreshing baths. They begin by painting me with wild colors (as you can see below):
Then they rinse me off with cool water and let me bask in the sun. I often take a roll in the arena as a personal massage in order to complete the process. The children have fun and I get pampered. That a win-win in my book!
Rumors are spreading about two new baby goats heading to the ranch. When I get the official word, I will let you know. Just having one goat is confusing.
Our current residents Nutmeg (goat) and Noel (lamb) are driving me crazy, since they now think that they are poets. They have gotten addicted to these little Cheerio-shaped treats which we have affectionately named Goat-i-Os. They love eating them. Now they have written a song about this food item that they keep singing around the ranch. They call it, An Ode to Goat-i-Os:
O how sweet and O how crunchy
Are my lovely Goat-i-Os
I may munch on hay and pine
But I still crave Goat-i-Os divine
Miss Mo may eat her to-ma-toes
But give me precious Goat-i-Os
You’re content with Cheer-i-os
But my heart beats for Goat-i-Os
I need to remind these two songwriters that the ranch already has a poet-in-residence (moi), and does not need any amateur poets distracting guests from my inspired lyrics.
It’s already time to be thinking about the June-July session for the children. Call-in registration is this Saturday, May 6th at 8am. First called, first served. If you are thinking of registering your children for this upcoming session, be sure to call this Saturday.
Well that’s all for this posting. I hope the children keep sending me interesting questions. In the meantime, I have more time to work on my creative projects. Miss Mo and Mr. John can look forward to more 3am jam sessions coming from my paddock.
Happy Trails,
Gimli May 5, 2023
