Hello my friends, and welcome to another issue of the Gimli Gazette, the one place on planet earth where you can view the world from an equine perspective.
Some of you have asked if I am attempting to start a new fashion trend, with my sporting a festive cape and mask. While I do not deny that I am on the cutting edge of haute couture, my recent clothing accessories have been more practical in nature.
We have been having an abundance of mosquitoes swarming the ranch over the past week. It does not surprise me that these insects find me to be irresistible, but the welts on my neck show that their affection has gone too far. Between the cape (also known as a fly sheet) covering my body and the (fly) mask over my face, I appear to be quite the fashionista (or perhaps a superhero). The good news is that I am now better protected from their nasty bites.
It’s not just the mosquitoes that are trying to get a piece of me. Many of my fans have wanted souvenirs of their time spent with me. Selfies are fine, but my groupies want something to wear that will tell the world that they have been in the presence of greatness.
Fortunately I have just the item for them! If you look on the Merch Page of the Mercy Spring Ranch Website (under the GET INVOLVED tab), you will find apparel available with the Poop Patrol logo. If you look closely, you will see that the horse model used for this logo is none other than yours truly. You can have this image put on T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, or even Tote Bags. Proceeds from these sales go to support MSR and their work with children.
I must say that our two new baby goats are putting on quite a show for visitors to the ranch. Their energy levels are amazing! I love the sound of their voices as they look for any and all objects to jump up on (even people). If you are visiting the ranch, be sure to stop by and say hello to them.
A big thank you goes out to the volunteers who came out last Saturday to help with getting all the new hay stacked under cover. They got the project done just in time before the rain started to come down. Their hard work will mean some well-fed horses over the next few months.
Well, that’s all for this week. The children have been keeping me very busy. That’s why I love the summer months!
Happy Trails,
Gimli June 12, 2023
