Hello my friends, and welcome to another installment of the Gimli Gazette, where truth seekers find inspiration and insight into our challenging world.
Mercy Spring Ranch has been very festive lately, with participation in two Christmas parades in recent weeks. It began on December 2nd with the Escalon parade. Then on December 9th, it was off to Riverbank for their celebration.
Ranch staff and volunteers got to ride the float or walk alongside it while passing out candy to folks along the parade route. Christmas lights were aglow everywhere, as some folks even brought their dogs along for the fun. Citizens in both communities got to learn more about the ministry of Mercy Spring Ranch. Check out all the colorful pictures on the MSR Facebook page!
I got a few texts from my fans asking why I was not a part of the parade. The simple answer is that my voice coach did not think that my breathing in all those exhaust fumes from the various tractors and floats would be good for my vocal cords. I must keep my singing voice in top condition for future recording sessions.
And speaking of musical projects, there appears to be a rival band forming at the ranch. During the day, I cannot help but hear their futile attempts at acapella singing (more like bleating) coming from the lamb and goat quarters. They are calling themselves Lambie-Lambie & the Goatie-Os. I do not see much of a musical future for them, but I appreciate their efforts.
I hope to see many of you this Saturday, December 16th from 9am to Noon for a Volunteer Work Day at the ranch. We are hoping to complete the trenches for installation of conduits that will hold electrical lines around the arena. We have a grant that is paying for this project, but the work needs to be done by the end of February 2024. Any help that you can give us on Saturday will be greatly appreciated.
Well that does it for this posting. I hope you are all staying nice and warm these winter months. Have a blessed Christmas and a joyful New Year! May it be filled with sweet hay and horse cookies.
Happy Trails,
Gimli December 11, 2023
