Hello my friends, and welcome to another edition of the Gimli Gazette, where I provide insight and perspective on life here at Mercy Spring Ranch. I am your eyes behind the scenes on what goes on with this ministry to children.
And speaking of the children, I begin this post with a question from one of them. A young girl asks, “Why do you like eating weeds in the Round Pen?” This is a good question. Actually, what you call weeds I consider to be culinary delights. These tasty plants provide me with the extra nutrition I need to maintain my stellar looks and pristine health. My diet is important to me, if I am to retain my standing as an international mentor for horses around the world.
Some of the children have noticed a slight mark on my face. They have even gone so far as to jokingly call me Scarface. Before the rumors start flying about how I got it, let me just say that I wear this mark proudly. It gives my face character, as I exchange beauty for ashes (to quote a popular song and Scripture). I see this mark as a symbol of my rugged strength and resilience in adversity, which will only improve with time.
We have had a visitor to the ranch this past week. A young and friendly dog (who Mr. John has named Mati) wandered onto the ranch and wants to make it her home. She is already winning over hearts and minds of visitors and staff alike as she greets everyone on the property. I hope she gets to stay.
Tomorrow (May 4th) at 8am is the Session Call-In for the June/July block. This is an opportunity for children to be able to spend quality time with me on a regular basis. I look forward to working with them next month. Sessions fill up quickly, so you should plan to call tomorrow. More information is available on our Facebook page or at https://www.mercyspringranch.org/our-sessions-program/.
It’s time for me to get ready for today’s session. I hope you are all making exciting summer plans. I have many projects in the works, but they can all be put on the back burner for the time being, since the children are always my top priority. They are who I love to serve!
Happy Trails,
