Hello my friends, and welcome to another edition of the Gimli Gazette, where world leaders come to clear their minds and gain a new perspective on solving the world’s problems. They come asking a simple question in their hearts and minds — “What would Gimli do in my situation?” They leave with renewed insight and the world becomes a better place.
There has been a lot of excitement on the ranch lately with preparations for the upcoming Ranch Family Dinner on October 19th from 3 to 7:30pm. There will be Horseback Rides, Crafts, Games, a BBQ/Potluck, and Fireside Smores. It is one of the highlights of the year.
The high point for me is the Showcase Skit. Many of you will remember my starring role at last year’s event. It was Sir Gimli who had fun storming the castle and heroically saving the captives from the evil villains inside. This year will continue MSR’s proud tradition of featuring yours truly saving the day and bringing joy to all the children.
I don’t want to give too much away, since we are already in pre-rehearsals for the production. Let me just say that we are going back some two thousand years to present ancient games carried out with action and suspense. I have already had my costume fitting, and I must say that I will look quite dashing. Observers have commented that I am a natural for this performance. It should also be noted that I will be doing all my own stunts (no stunt horse was capable of carrying out my exquisite moves in the arena). We will have more animals involved in the production this year as well.
Some of you have noted my professional photos recently posted on the MSR Facebook page. While the young woman with me got some of the attention, I was proud to have been the main focus of this photo shoot. I will be autographing copies of these photos at the Ranch Family Dinner if you bring along a copy.
Sessions are winding down. It has been another wonderful year serving the children. I am always happy to take a break from my modeling and music schedule to spend time with them. Next year should be even better!
Well that’s all for now. My agent has lined up many interviews with the press before the Ranch Family Dinner, so I’ve got to run. I hope to see you on October 19th!
Happy Trails,
Gimli September 30, 2024
