Horse Handler Training

For those 18 and over who would like to volunteer in any capacity that puts you in proximity to our horses, we require all horse volunteers to go through our horse handler training. Training is offered in our off-season, scheduled from January through March. Horse handlers learn the basics of haltering, grooming, leading, horse behavior and safety with our equines. Those with current horse experience can often get our guidelines down quickly, but it’s imperative for safety and the health of our horses that all horse related volunteers go through this training.

Do you have an interest and desire to volunteer with the horses at the ranch? Even if you have minimal experience, you are welcome to come and learn what it takes to be a horse handler at MSR!
